Welcome one and all to the RAW RECAP presented by THE REVELLEUTION! We are just days away from the Money in the Bank event, and there’s still one more spot in the women’s match to decide. That last qualifier match will happen on Raw this week with a final Triple Threat Match. Alongside Liv Morgan finally returning to action on TV as she defends her Women’s World Championship against Zelina Vega. So who will emerge on top with MITB coming this weekend? Let’s get into it and find out…
NIKKI CROSS once again delivered a Wyatt Sicks message to the announce table.
SCARLETT and The Final Testament accompanied Karrion Kross as he lost to Xavier Woods. The Final Testament put a beatdown on The New Day after the loss.
LIV MORGAN created more issues within The Judgement Day when she was found to be hanging out in their clubhouse, much to the anger of Damien Priest. Priest before that had told Dominik Mysterio that she’d spoken to Rhea Ripley and that she was ‘pissed’ about what was going on with the group.
Women’s World Championship Match
Women’s World Champion LIV MORGAN defeated ZELINA VEGA
CATHY KELLEY interviewed Vega before the match and Vega claimed she’d prove her doubters wrong, but instantly the announcers pointed out that it’s been over a year since Vega had any title shot. Morgan tossed Vega down to start the match, but Vega answered with a series of Arm Drags. Morgan would messily toss Vega into a corner, and then choked Vega on the ropes with a Back Sleeper. Moments later, Vega was set up on the top rope but slipped down to yank Morgan by the arm to slam her head into the buckle. A 619 clipped Morgan’s leg to make her tumble down.
Vega tried to climb the corner but Morgan grabbed her arm to yank it down on the top rope, and then a Dropkick sent Vega down to the floor. At that point, Dominik Mysterio walked down to ringside and that took Morgan’s attention away, allowing Vega to hit a Tornado-style Arm Drag off the ring apron. Followed by a Meteora from the apron to Morgan before Vega saw, much to her disgust, that Dominik was out but that in turn led to Rey Mysterio of the LWO coming out to back Vega up.
After a commercial break, Morgan played more mind games with Dominik as she first hit the Three Amigos and then locked on Rhea Ripley’s Prizm Lock submission. Vega was able to escape, using a roll through to send Morgan into a corner before she used a Roll-up grip to set up Morgan for a Head Kick. After a few kicks, including a Springboard one in a corner and an awkward one after using a foot to raise up Morgan’s head, Vega hit a Moonsault for a near fall.
Morgan countered a Code Red attempt with a B-Driver but Morgan countered the pin attempt into one of her own for a near fall. A Glimmering Warlock got Morgan a two count. Moments later, Vega was able to hit a Super Code Red off the ropes but Morgan rolled out of the ring. Outside of the ring, Rey shoved Dominik down and Morgan hit Rey with a Baseball Slide, but as she bragged on the ropes Vega hit a 619. A Tilt-a-Whirl DDT by Vega got her a near fall.
Dominik slid in a chair to Vega to use, but she instead slammed it into Dominik to knock him off the apron. The moment she turned around, Morgan hit ObLIVion to get the three count and retain her title.
After the match Morgan tried to chase after Dominik who just stormed off, before Cathy Kelly stopped her at the entranceway for an interview. Morgan bragged that she was the luckiest girl in the world and dedicated all her future wins to Dominik.
Triple Threat Match – Women’s MITB Qualifying Match
ZOEY STARK defeated DAKOTA KAI & IVY NILE
Kai decked Nile to start the match, but soon took a corner kick to the head from Stark. Nile hit a Clothesline to Stark for a count of one, but took a leg trip from Kai who set her up on the apron for a boot to the head. Stark took out Kair with a Baseball Slide but after she sent Kai back in, Nile hit her with a Dropkick when she tried to enter the ring. Nile impressively managed to hit both opponents with one swing kick and then hit a corner kick to Kai, but Kai right after followed Nile for an attempt at her Running Boot but it became more of a rough Knee Strike because of mistiming.
The Stark Sniper Missle Dropkick to Kai got a near fall. After a commercial break, Nile hit a Double Super Bulldog to both opponents. Nile went House on Fire on Kai with Shoulder Knockdowns, a Corner Dropkick then a Release German Suplex. Stark then took a Flying Headscissors then a Release German. Nile went for a Delayed Suplex on Kai but Stark pulled Kai down, only for Nile to hit a Double German Suplex to both opponents and got a near fall on Kai.
A brief strike exchange saw Stark duck a kick by Nile that hit Kai instead, before Stark hit an overhead Half-and-Half Suplex but Kai broke up the pin. Kai hit the Scorpion Kick to Stark, but soon took a Low Knee Strike from Stark. Nile hit a Head Kick then a Bridging German Suplex to Stark for a two count. Stark hit a Superkick to Nile then use a Springboard to hit a Tornado DDT. Kai pounced and hit her Kai-ropractor Destroyer Backstabber on Stark but Nile broke up the pin.
KAIRI SANE ran out and distracted Nile, allowing Kai to hit her Springboard Stomp to Nile. Right after, for payback from last week, ALBA FYRE and ISLA DAWN jumped Sane to deck her. That distracted Kai who ate a Superkick from Stark and then took Z-360 as Stark got the win to get the last spot in the Women’s MITB Match.
MAXXINE DUPRI briefly popped up as Chad Gable tried to manipulate Otis to be back on his side.
Liv Morgan would come out during Dominik Mysterio’s match against Rey Mysterio to distract Rey. At one point, Morgan pulled Dominik out of the ring but when Rey hit a Baseball Slide, it left Dominik on top of Morgan on the floor in a compromising position. Especially when Morgan deliberately grabbed Dominik so he couldn’t instantly get away. Zelina Vega ran out to brawl with Morgan and eventually that fight ended up making Morgan accidentally crotching Dominik on the ropes which led to him losing the match.
Backstage Damage CTRL of Sane, Kai and IYO SKY were interviewed and Kai ranted about other people getting in their business. LYRA VALKYRIA stepped up and made fun of them being confident when they were all together. It led to a sudden brawl when KAYDEN CARTER and KATANA CHANCE rushed in to fight Damage CTRL alongside Valkyria, before referees and agents broke things up. It would be announced later that next week a six-woman tag would pit Damage CTRL against Carter, Chance and Valkyria.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
Stark qualifies after a more than solid Triple Threat match. The Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match doesn’t have any clear frontrunner to be the winner so it could be anyone. There is the lingering fear that this year could be the one where the winner fails to cash in successfully so that has to be kept in mind. The Unholy Union attacked Damage CTRL, but that faction will again face off with Double KC this time teaming with Valkyria. It’s a bit of a mess with the booking but perhaps will lead to a multi-time match at SummerSlam. Elsewhere, Morgan retained in a fine bout alongside all the drama with her, Dominik Mysterio and The Judgement Day. We’ll see if and when Rhea Ripley returns and if that will mean the hoped for SummerSlam clash between the rivals.
That’s your lot for this week! Be sure to stop by in seven days’ time for the next edition of the RAW RECAP! See you then!
