WWE 2K26: Cover Star Breakdown, DLC Plans, Pricing & More #WWE2K26

Earlier today WWE and 2K revealed the official cover for the standard edition of WWE 2K26 alongside the cost and what is included in each edition of this year’s game.

Earlier today it was officially confirmed that CM Punk is indeed the cover star for this year’s game, making Punk one of the few superstars to feature as the Cover star on more than one occasion. Punk was previously the cover star for WWE ‘13 which also featured a nod to the attitude era, similar to WWE 2K26. Punk joins the already revealed Triple H deluxe edition, Attitude Era edition and the Monday Night Wars Edition which were previously unveiled earlier in the week.

I think everyone pretty much had an inkling these last few months that CM Punk would be the official cover star for this year’s game, with Punk being on a roll these last few months especially, since returning to the company back in November 2023. I would probably argue that this is my favourite base game cover since WWE 2K22, with this year’s cover going with a little bit more of a grungy look compared to the sleek and clean designs in recent years. The theme goes much better with Punk’s vibe making it a must for CM Punk fans who want to get their hands on the game.

I will say it’s a huge shame that there isn’t a stand alone female superstar edition, especially with there being 4 editions this year but I do absolutely frickin love the Attitude Era edition. I won’t go off on too much of a tangent but the Attitude Era was when I first started watching WWE or WWF as it was back then, and I became completely obsessed with Stephanie, Trish and Lita. The first WWE Superstar I ever saw was Stephanie McMahon and sure she was being an absolute bitch but I couldn’t get enough of her and I was hooked, so to see that this year we’re getting a classic version of Stephanie is just wow, okay I’ll move on.

Unlike previous year’s this year’s game will have three special editions with the Triple H King of Kings Deluxe edition, the Attitude Era edition and the Monday Night War Edition which is the top tier edition of this year’s title.

Earlier this week it was speculated that last gen consoles had been dropped from the WWE 2K series with today’s reveal confirming the news. I know this news won’t please everyone and I totally understand the frustrations that are bound to come from this reveal, but for the games to improve going forward I completely understand from a technical standpoint.

Starting off with the Standard edition of WWE 2K26, this version will cost players $69.99 and will be available to play from March 13th 2026.

Those who pre-order this year’s game with pre-orders starting right now, will receive the Joe Hendry Pack. The pack includes a playable version of Joe Hendry, a Joe Hendry cosmetic Shirt item, a Joe Hendry MyFaction EVO card and a Joe Hendy “Spin” emote which you can use on the island. There are a whole bunch of emotes coming to WWE 2K26 so I really hope we can use them outside of the Island as taunts later down the Line. I can just see it now everyone hitting the Joe Hendry spin in the Island Lobby as the music blasts from the speakers.

It’s really cool to see Joe here as the pre-order bonus as it leaves the door open to which newer WWE talent could appear as part of this year’s DLC. I’ve already said it in previous videos but having the likes of AJ Lee and Blake Monroe in the base game is quite surreal to me so I can’t wait to see who else makes the base game cut.

Next Up we have the King of Kings Deluxe edition of WWE 2K26 which comes in at $99.99. Those who purchase the Deluxe edition of WWE 2K26 will have the opportunity to play the game one week earlier on March 6th. The Deluxe edition comes with the Joe Hendry pack as well as Ringside Pass Premium Season 1, 32,500 VC, and the King of Kings Pack.

The King of Kings pack includes playable versions of both Triple H ‘98 and Stephanie McMahon 2000 as well as a Triple H Signature Taunt for the Island.

With this year’s DLC, 2K are shaking things up with the release model giving fans more reasons to play as well as earning XP across all game modes. Each Season will include 60 free tiers and 40 premium tiers. Those who reach tier 40 will have the opportunity to unlock Superstars, Cosmetic items, customization items, VC, Content for both MyFaction and the Island and more.

Each season will come with 4 Superstars and allow players to play through the season at their own pace. It’s also been revealed that seasons do not expire and players can even play through a season regardless of if they haven’t finished the season before a new one is released.

According to the Switch Store season 1 arrives at Launch on March 6th with Season 2 taking place on May 4th. Season 3 then takes place on June 29th, with Season 4 arriving on August 24th. Season 5 is set to release on October 19th, with the final season taking place December 14th. Remember these dates could change like last year’s DLC but these at least give an impression of how long content will last for WWE 2K26. I quite enjoyed having the content spread out over the year as it kept be tuned into the series.

Season 1: March 6th

Season 2: May 4th

Season 3: June 29th

Season 4: August 24th

Season 5: October 19th

Season 6: December 14th

I have yet to experience the game for myself so I can’t say for sure but this to me sounds like some sort of battlepass for future DLC Content. As someone who has played and still plays several games with this type of feature I personally don’t mind it as I play the game daily so it just gives me even more reason to play. As I’ve said previously I’m the type of player who likes to work towards unlocking things for myself so for me this is my type of fun. I will say however that I know that’s not to everyone’s taste so I’m intrigued to see how this will cater for those types of players. I enjoy it most when games are inclusive to all playstyles so I really hope there is something there for players who don’t want to grind for their content. I will say that I really like that there are free pieces too within the ringside pass as it gives everyone something to play for regardless of which edition you choose.

For those who want even more from their game, they can now pre-order the Attitude Era edition of WWE 2K26 for $129.99.

Like the King of Kings Edition, The Attitude Era edition is available to play from March 6th and comes with all the contents of the previous two editions. The Attitude Era pack also comes with Seasons 1-4 of the Ringside Premium pass as well as the Attitude Era Pack and Superstar Mega-Boost.

The Attitude Era pack includes playable versions of The Rock ‘99, Kane ‘98 and Chyna ‘97 as well as MyFaction EVO Cards of both “Rattlesnake” Stone Cold Steve Austin and “The People’s Champ” The Rock. The pack also comes with the RAW is War ‘98 arena, The Undertaker “Thumb Across the Neck” emote and Shawn Michaels “Dx Crotch Chop” emote both for the Island.

The Superstar Mega-Boost pack this year includes 200 Attribute Points for MySuperstar in MyRise as well as 100,000 VC.

Those who pre-order the Attitude Era edition on PlayStation or Xbox before February 23rd will also receive 15,000 Vc in WWE 2K26 as well as 67,500 VC in WWE 2K25.Those who pre-order any edition of  WWE 2K26 will also receive the digital base game of WWE 2K25 at no additional cost.

Those who want the ultimate WWE 2K26 experience can purchase the Monday Night War edition which comes in at $149.99.

The Monday Night War edition comes with everything from the previous editions of the game and is available to play from March 6th. The Monday Night War edition also includes Seasons 1-6 of the Ringside Premium Pass, The Monday Night War Pack and the WrestleMania 42 Pack. Like in previous years the WrestleMania pack has yet to have an official release date but judging by previous years I imagine the pack could come out over the Summer. This year’s WrestleMania pack comes with the WrestleMania 42 arena as well as Three WrestleMania 42 Persona cards.

The Monday Night War Pack comes with playable versions of DX Shawn Michaels, Macho Man Randy Savage ‘98 and Rowdy Roddy Piper ‘98. The pack also contains the WCW Thunder ‘98 arena as well as a Diamond Dallas Page “Bang” emote for the island.

So those are all four editions of this year’s game and what each and every edition contains. Let me know in the comments below which is your favourite cover of this year’s game and which edition you intend to purchase. If I had to pick one cover between all four I would absolutely go with the Attitude Era cover as it really speaks to me. Don’t get me wrong I think all four covers are pretty cool but when you know, you know.  Also let me know what your thoughts are on the new system when it comes to DLC and how you plan to venture through it.

2K have released so much information today so be sure to return as we go over details on new and returning match types, first looks at female superstars, gameplay improvements and even more than that.

Until Next Time, I’ve been the Revelleution.
